Please tell me in laymen terms how to Download & install ZUNE software to my new HP Laptop using Windows 8.1 64 bit so I can use my 3 120 Gb ZUNE Players. I have tried with the Microsoft download & it opens. BUT won't sync & won't play the music. I uninstalled& tried again-NO GO. I researched it & there is something about downloading with older compatibility mode. I tried to change that in the menus, Still doesn't work. THE BEST ADVISE was to contact a 'MICROSOFT SUPPORT' person that would HELP me download theirproduct's software on their NEW & improved software Windows 8.1.

I couldn't get them to tell me the time of the day. 'No- we don't support nothing' was their answers. They would help for my credit card number.
No ZUNE, 'Check the internet' was their replyexactly. So he I am begging for someone with computer knowledge to help me do what MICROSOFT will not. PLEASE tell me in English how to make ZUNE work on my new computer. I hope I won't be back when Windows 10 comes out next.
Hello Robert:Thank you for posting to the forum regarding the issues you are having with the Zune software on your Windows 8.1 PC. We are disappointed to hear of the issues you are having with the Zune software and the experience you had with support. We hope to getto the bottom of this and have you back to enjoying your music. The first thing to do would be to install the software to your computer from here. I am not aware that this must be installed or run in compatibility mode but if you are having continuing issues getting Zune to run that may be something worth doing. You can do this by savingthe software to your desktop.
When you first click the download button on the page above you will get a pop up at the bottom of the screen with the option to run or save. Select save and then save as. Save to the desktop and you will now find an icon onthe desktop, take note of the save name so you can easily find this. Once you have done this, right click that icon from your desktop and select properties and go to the compatibility tab. Check the box related to running this program in compatibility mode. From the drop down box, select Windows 7 first, apply and click OK. Once this is done, double click the icon to run it.
If you continue to have issues you might try this one more time and select Windows Vista (service Pack 2).If your issue is less with getting this software installed or launched and more with using the software we will need more information related to your experience. We need details related to what exactly happens when you attempt to play a track you downloadedwith the software, if the song does not play there would be an error message and code indicated by a!
If you are not able to get the software to sync contents to your Zune players, what is the error you get when trying this? You should be able to findthe error related to syncing by going to the summary section of the device section after trying the sync. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.Mark W.
